Providing More Than Just Peace of Mind

It is crucial that every home and business is aware of the dangers of smoke, heat, carbon monoxide and fire and the potential threat they can pose to property and human life. Not only this, but it is important that those who own, manage or are responsible for a building or property need to take the necessary steps to ensure that in the event of a fire, it is detected as soon as possible and the occupants are alerted.

At Essential Group we design, install and maintain high quality, effective and reliable industrial and commercial fire detection systems that help to reduce the risk and spread of fire, keeping people safe and minimising the loss and impact fire can have.

Innovative Fire Solutions

As a BAFE certified installer, we provide a range of technically advanced solutions; from stand-alone smoke detectors, right through to fully functional addressable fire alarm systems. All of our products include various fire detection methods, including smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, remote terminals, fire panels, sounders and beacons, which are highly dependable and conform to the relevant British standards.

The appropriate British standards set by the fire and security industry for the design, installation and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems are:

  • BS 5839-1:2017 for non-domestic premises
  • BS5839:6:2019 in dwellings

Once a suitable solution has been designed and installed, our experienced engineers carry out system testing to ensure your systems are fully operational from day one.

Essential Group’s fire protection solutions can be integrated with intruder alarm systems which are monitored around the clock by our Alarm Receiving Centre that will alert emergency services or initiate other procedures where necessary.

Monitoring

Fire Alarm service and preventative maintenance visits

UK fire alarm regulations state that fire alarm systems must be ‘adequately maintained’, however, BS 5839 recommends that fire alarm systems should be inspected by a competent person at least every 6 months and the government recommends following this standard.

For large premises, however, we would recommend a quarterly service, as there are many more components within fire alarm systems, and therefore more opportunities for something to go wrong.

Monitoring

At Essential Group, our innovative communication solutions mean that we are able to provide a wide range of professional monitoring services across all aspects of fire safety.

Digital Communicator Monitoring

This is a cost-effective method of monitoring which sends the alarm signal down the telephone line to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Our technology enables the alarm panel to automatically dial the ARC and transmit a signal revealing the status of the panel.

Redcare Monitoring

BT Redcare uses non-dialling technology which continuously monitors the telephone line integrity, thereby detecting line cuts and faults within seconds. It therefore represents a major security enhancement which is fully endorsed by leading insurers.

Digi Air Communicator Monitoring

DualCom DigiAir utilises all mobile networks via WorldSIM instead of a telephone line to signal the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). It is an ideal upgrade for wired digital communicators as it eliminates call costs and phone charges.

Dual Path Monitoring

This is a unique method of monitoring designed to operate with two signalling paths by radio and telephone line. In the event of an activated alarm, the radio signal is transmitted to the ARC. The advantages of dual path signalling is that in the event of accidental or deliberate line failure, the alarm will communicate over the wireless network.
